Ursula Strauss (born April 25, 1974 in Melk , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian actress .
Live and act
Ursula Strauss grew up in Pöchlarn in the Melk district, where her father Rupert Strauss was mayor of the ÖVP . After graduating from the educational institute for kindergarten pedagogy in Amstetten , she moved to Vienna , where she attended drama school at the Volkstheater from 1993 to 1996 . Then she was engaged in various roles at the Volkstheater. She then played in the Gossam court theater, in the St. Pöltner stage in the courtyard, at the Melker Summer Games, at the Ensemble Theater Vienna , Theater Drachengasse , Theater in der Josefstadt , Theater Kiel , Stadttheater Klagenfurt and at TEATA Cologne.
Her film career began in 1999. She played her first leading role in Bad Cells (2003). For her leading role in Revanche (2008) she was awarded a special prize at the Graz Film Festival Diagonale , which usually does not award any acting prizes.
After guest appearances in various television series, she took over the main role of Commissioner Angelika Schnell in the crime series Schnell, which was broadcast from 2009 , for which she received a Romy in 2010 . In 2012 she won the Austrian Film Prize for her portrayal in Elisabeth Scharang's feature film Maybe in Another Life .
From 2012 she took part in various productions at the Vienna Rabenhoftheater , including Iba de gaunz oamen Leit ( Christine Nöstlinger ) and Wien Mitte ( Ernst Molden ).
Also in 2012, Ursula Strauss was the first curator of a cultural festival. The real-time fall / winter festival in Wachau started on September 30, 2012 in the Wachau World Heritage Site.
In October 2013 she took over the presidency of the Academy of Austrian Films together with Stefan Ruzowitzky .
After Ursula Strauss suffered a serious traffic accident as a passenger in September 2014, she had to cancel her planned filming for the ORF series Quickly determined .
Little information is available about her private life; the name of her spouse, whom she married in August 2014, is still unknown to the public.
In summer 2018 she played the role of Brunhild in Siegfrieds Erben at the Nibelungen Festival in Worms , directed by Roger Vontobel .
In the ORF series Wischen ist Macht (2020) she played the role of Michelle Sendracek, who runs a cleaning company ( Dreck.Weg.Sendracek ). Also in 2020 she released the album Wüdnis with Ernst Molden .
