Mario Adorf Prize

The after actor Mario Adorf named Mario Adorf Award bestowed by the city of Worms and the Nibelungen Festival since 2018 actors , stage designers , directors or other members of the Nibelungen Festival, which distinguish themselves by exceptional artistic achievement. The theater prize , a glass stele with a dragon motif by the illustrator Hendrik Dorgathen , is endowed with 10,000 euros. The founder of this award is the native Worms entrepreneur Harald Christ . The stele is donated by the special glass manufacturer SCHOTT .

Adorf himself belongs to the board of trustees of the festival and sits on the jury . Among other things, he initiated the festival in 2002 and was an actor himself in 2002 and 2003.
