Meine Fremd Frau (also: Meine Frau, eine Fremde ) is an Austrian television film from 2015 by Lars Becker with Harald Krassnitzer and Ursula Strauss in the leading roles. It was first broadcast on October 28, 2015 on ORF and on February 3, 2016 on ZDF .

action

The ambulant nurse Maria Hofer is seriously injured when leaving a Viennese coffee house by a car that is racing towards her at excessive speed. The driver is hit and miss , Maria is in a coma . After she wakes up from this, she suffers from retrograde amnesia , she can neither remember the accident itself, nor her own name or her husband public prosecutor Bruno Hofer and their two children Lucy and Joey. Bruno Hofer tries to bring Maria back to her previous life and, with the support of his friend, Detective Superintendent Freddy Turek, to find the driver involved in the accident.

The only witness to the incident is Lukas Horvath, conductor at the Vienna State Opera . His statement is not very effective, however, and he does not mention the fact that he had an appointment with his lover Maria in the coffee house. The vehicle involved in the accident can be located and is owned by the influential contractor Toni Lorant and his wife Gloria. Lorant had reported the car as stolen. Gloria Lorant confesses to Freddy Turek to have driven the vehicle after he says that the witness would clearly identify her in a confrontation. In fact, her husband had driven the vehicle. In a comparison, Lukas Horvath states that he did not recognize the driver. In return, Toni Lorant later offers him financial support after Horvath's contract extension is at stake due to financial irregularities. Turek finds out that Toni Lorant and Lukas Horvath had already known each other before the confrontation, but Horvath continues to state that he did not recognize the driver.

In the course of his investigation, Bruno finds out that Horvath was not at the scene of the accident by chance. A review of Maria's telephone connections prior to the accident reveals that Horvath and Maria have been in contact often and have had an affair for two months. Bruno tries to save the family life together and the marriage, which was already in crisis before the accident. After Maria and Bruno slowly get closer to each other through shared memories, Maria suddenly collapses dead due to a blood clot in her brain. Gloria Lorant finally confesses to Bruno Hofer that her husband caused the accident and wants to testify against her husband.
