Jasmin Gerat (born December 25, 1978 in Berlin ) is a German - Turkish actress and presenter .

Life

Jasmin Gerat attended the Carl Orff Elementary School in Berlin from 1985 and completed her schooling in 1994 at the Kopernikus Comprehensive School with a secondary school leaving certificate. In 1994 Gerat won the Bravo Girl election. A year later, she took 2nd place in the international model competition The Look of the Year .

In 1995 Gerat began a traineeship at the TV station tm3 and presented the live program Heart Attack . In the following year she also took over the shows Bravo TV , through which Heike Makatsch had led until then , and Chartbreaker , so that from that point on she presented three TV formats in parallel. After she had completely given up her moderation activities in 1997 and set off on a world tour, she and Christian Ulmen ran the MTV Alarm program on the music broadcaster MTV the following year .

Since 1997 Gerat has been working primarily as an actress. She had her first leading role in the film Caipiranha by Felix Dünnemann . Since then she has played in several television and cinema productions. She had herself photographed in 1998 for the May issue of Max and the July issue of German Playboy , each including a cover appearance. In 1999 Gerat played Helen in the play Krüppel by Inishmaan at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . In 2001 she held another theater role at the Hanover Theater .

After the theater engagements, other leading episode roles followed in various television series. From 2000 to 2005 she had a role in the series Coast Guard of the ZDF . In 2003 another leading role in the cinema followed in the film Mädchen, Mädchen 2 - Loft or Liebe by Peter Gersina . In the same year Gerat played in the episode Father's Day of the ZDF series Nachtschicht, a young woman who gives up her child for adoption after the birth while her husband is in prison. Since then she has also been used for “more adult” roles, for example in 2004 in the film Die Mandantin by Marcus O. Rosenmüller .

From 2005 to 2007, Gerat played Commissioner Jale Beck in the ZDF series SOKO Cologne . With the role that she helped to develop herself, she not only connected a few character traits, but also details of the origin: Jale Beck is also half-Turkish. In 2006 she shot the Sat.1 film Murder on a Prescription from director Isabel Kleefeld with Tobias Moretti and Wotan Wilke Möhring . Til Schweiger cast her in a leading role in his comedy Kokowääh in 2011 . In the 2012 film Mann does what Mann kann , she plays a vet who already has a wedding date when the protagonist (Wotan Wilke Möhring) falls in love with her (director: Marc Rothemund ). In 2015 she played one of the leading roles in the first season of the Belgian-Danish-German-Austrian-Swiss co-production The Team . After that she was among other things in the Tatort: ​​Spielverderber and in the Charlotte Link film The Last Trace .

Gerat is the daughter of a German mother and a Turkish father. She herself is the mother of two daughters who were born in 2007 and 2015. Since 2016 she has been an action ambassador for Pampers and UNICEF to fight tetanus . As an ambassador for the Björn Schulz Foundation , she supports the Sonnenhof children's hospice in Berlin .
