Günther Lainer (born May 1, 1969 in Linz , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian cabaret artist and juggler .

Life

The trained carpenter is a trained pastoral assistant and was also active as a religion teacher in this function . From 1990 to 1998 he was a writer with the group anonyme freunde . Günther Lainer has been performing with cabaret partner Manfred Linhart since 1993 . The best-of program Grüner Veltliner, which was adapted year after year, developed from this in 2000 . In 2006, Lainer and Ernst Aigner started the first church cabaret entitled I am the vine, you are the bottles . Thirteen cabaret programs were created in these partnerships by 2017.

As a juggler Gausl (abbreviation for: Günther from Linz) he has been touring Austria since 1994, e.g. B. from 1993 to 2003 as a regular guest at the Linzer Pflasterspektakel and from 1995 to 2000 as a Cliniclown in Upper Austrian hospitals.

In 2002 Günther Lainer was the main actor in the no-budget short film Klein for the first time . In this very serious role he plays a policeman who loses touch with his wife over the years and who can only bring about a surprising turnaround through the provocation of another man.

Subsequently, he was seen in various TV supporting roles and short films, since 2007 as a sporadic guest on the ORF comedy show What's New? by and with Oliver Baier and, since 2015, in the Puls 4 series "Are you stupid?"

On January 16, 2012, the first joint cabaret program "99" with Klaus Eckel premiered in the Wiener Stadtsaal . In the cinema documentary “Too big to tell - research in the financial world” (director: Johanna Tschautscher ), Günther Lainer is the protagonist of the humorous scenes alongside experts from the financial sector.
