Oliver Baier (born December 4, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian entertainer , cabaret artist , radio and television presenter .

Life

Oliver Baier graduated from high school in 1985. After participating in a workshop on the ORF broadcaster Radio Wien , he entered the media industry shortly afterwards. After working for the holiday broadcaster Radio Adria , he switched to Ö3 in 1990 . In the summers of 1991, 1992 and 1993 he caused a sensation with the lunchtime show One o'clock . He also started the astro show Sternstunden with Gerda Rogers . In 1994 he switched to television, where he aired the quirky Montevideo show weekly . He was awarded a Romy for the program idea , but the show was discontinued after 22 episodes. Baier then worked in Germany at ProSieben and Antenne Bayern , before moving back to Austria to Ö3 in 1996 and starting the lunch show, meal , which remained on the air until 2003. In autumn 2001 ten episodes of the comedy series “Meal - The TV Show” were shown on ORF 1. In 2002 he worked as a writer and director behind the camera for the first time with Echt bett .

Oliver Baier is currently with What's new? (since 2004) on ORF Eins on the air, is the moderator at point 1 in Ö1 and plays at the Rabenhof in the play Galanacht .

In 2007 he acted as the game director in Die liebe Familie - Next Generation .

On June 25, 2006, he hosted his last Ö3 broadcast and said goodbye to the audience after 16 years with Ö3.

In 2009, Baier starred in the black humorous two - part hospital television film Aufschneider .

On January 16, 2015 an episode of the comedy show What's New? broadcast, in which Oliver Baier appears completely bald for the first time. According to Baier, this is not a question of the consequences of chemotherapy, but a conscious decision. Baier suffers from alopecia areata , a locally limited, circular hair loss.

For a short time in the spring of 2018, his conceptualized show “ To hell with it ” was shown weekly on ORF one in the main evening program. It was presented by the Ö3 presenter Thomas Kamenar . The show was discontinued after a few issues.
