Alfred Komarek (born October 5, 1945 in Bad Aussee ) is an Austrian writer. He lives as a freelance author in Vienna , Bad Aussee and Lower Austria .

Life

Alfred Komarek received a high school education in Bad Aussee and began during his later aborted Jus (where he at -Studiums Hans Lentze on Handwörterbuch to German legal history cooperate) to compose lack of money glosses and reports for newspapers and later texts for the radio. He tried to adapt the written word to the requirements of radio. His program Melodie exclusive, which ran for many years, became legendary with its mixture of folk music and cautiously poetic, even a little suggestive texts. Komarek's texts were also broadcast on Bavarian and Hessian radio , including: features, radio plays, essays, feuilletons, stories and TV scripts (most recently for the ORF series “Universum”). Alfred Komarek is not only the author of numerous crime novels, but also the author of various non-fiction books on the subject of local history and geography. It leads through both Austrian and European cultural landscapes.

His first crime novel Polt muss Weinen was awarded the Glauser as the best German-language crime novel of 1998. Six Polt novels and the first two Käfer novels have been filmed for television by ORF and ARTE . Together with Julian Pölsler , Alfred Komarek received the Romy in 2002 for the best screenplay.

Alfred Komarek also wrote the lyrics for various female singers, including Edita Gruberová and, under the name Alfred Schilling, for Anikó Benkö the successful song “Say yes to life”. He's one of the Donaldists .

Komarek moderates the Austrian literary magazine LiteraTOUR of the broadcaster ServusTV , since September 2018 alternating with Theodora Bauer .
