Ernst Grissemann (born February 18, 1934 in Imst , Tyrol ) is known as an Austrian radio presenter , journalist and actor .

Life

The unmistakable sound of Ernst The Voice Grissemann's voice is familiar to a large part of the Austrian, especially the older generation of radio listeners and television viewers. Grissemann was first heard on the radio in July 1954. At that time he worked as a news and program spokesman for the French occupation broadcaster Sendergruppe West . In 1955, after the signing of the Austrian State Treaty , it was taken over by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). There he worked in many areas, especially for radio: as a speaker, moderator, commentator, entertainer and designer.

In 1967 he was brought to Vienna by ORF general director Gerd Bacher , who entrusted him with setting up the entertainment radio in the reformed ORF. In just a few weeks, Grissemann and his team set up the radio station Ö3 and was extremely successful with it. His twelve years at this station earned him the title Mister Ö3 .

From 1979 to 1990 Ernst Grissemann was appointed radio director of the ORF several times. In this function, he also shaped the Ö1 cultural radio with his voice and the design of comments and moderations in his very narrative style. From 1990 to 1994 he took on the role of Tyrolean state manager at ORF . In November 1994, he resigned from all his leading positions at ORF in order to devote himself more to his creative work.

His son Christoph describes the voice of his father: "... with his voice he gives the event a dignity where there is normally no dignity ", alluding to the Eurovision Song Contests . Ernst Grissemann commented on this for ORF from 1970 to 1998 except 1979 and 1990. For 25 years, from 1983 to 2007, he accompanied the world-famous New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic as a commentator on the television broadcast . From 1988 onwards, he was also the longstanding presenter of the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in Klagenfurt .

Since 1995 he has been working as a freelance television and radio journalist (moderation on Austrian, German and Swiss radio) and as a columnist for daily, weekly and monthly publications. Among other things, he writes for the Tyrolean daily newspaper . From 1994 to January 1999 he moderated the broadcast Sunday at Grissemann on New Radio Vienna . Together with Andrea Kiesling , he presented the ORF television program Schöner Leben from September 3, 2000 to March 16, 2003 . He develops both radio and television broadcasts for the ORF, conducts voice and speech coaching and also does advertising.

From 1999 to 2007, Grissemann was on stage at the annual Raimund Summer Games in Gutenstein, Lower Austria .

Private

His sons are the well-known satirist Christoph Grissemann and the film critic Stefan Grissemann .
