Lower Austrian Culture Prize

The Lower Austrian Culture Prize is an award from the Lower Austrian provincial government that is awarded annually.

Culture award

The culture award is divided into an appreciation award and an appreciation award and has been awarded to artists since 1960. The individual categories in which prizes are awarded are:

  • Visual arts
  • performing Arts
  • literature
  • Media art
  • music
  • Folk culture and cultural initiatives.

In some years, special prizes are also awarded in other categories, such as graphic design in 2009.

By 2010, the 50th year of the award, over 1,000 people had already been awarded. The prize money for the appreciation award is 11,000 euros, for the recognition award 4,000 euros.
