Dorfstetten

Dorfstetten is located in the Waldviertel in Lower Austria. The area of the municipality covers 33.09 square kilometers. 80.69 percent of the area is forested.

The municipality includes the following two address areas (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):

Forestry Office (371) including Dorfstetten, Graben, Winkl and Wurzeben
Wimbergeramt (211) including the village mill and Öder farmers

The community consists of the cadastral community of Dorfstetten.

In ancient times, the area was part of the Noricum province .

Population development

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 632 inhabitants. In 1991 the community had 631 inhabitants, 654 in 1981 and 696 in 1971.

In 2001 there were 26 non-agricultural workplaces, agricultural and forestry operations 72 according to the 1999 survey. According to the 2001 census, the number of people in employment at the place of residence was 258. In 2001, the activity rate was 41.77 percent.
