Dorfstetten is a municipality with 582 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Melk district in Lower Austria .
geography
Dorfstetten is located in the Waldviertel in Lower Austria. The area of the municipality covers 33.09 square kilometers. 80.69 percent of the area is forested.
Community structure
The municipality includes the following two address areas (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):
- Forestry Office (371) including Dorfstetten, Graben, Winkl and Wurzeben
- Wimbergeramt (211) including the village mill and Öder farmers
The community consists of the cadastral community of Dorfstetten.

In ancient times, the area was part of the Noricum province .
Population development
According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 632 inhabitants. In 1991 the community had 631 inhabitants, 654 in 1981 and 696 in 1971.
