history

2. Coat of arms of the Blindenmarkt community

Middle Ages: It is believed that the blind market was founded between 1210 and 1250. The first documentary mention took place in the 13th century as "Plintenmarct".

The blind market was raised to a market in 1522 by the later emperor Ferdinand I. But this coat of arms was lost a few years later in the course of the first Turkish siege and was renewed by Maximilian II in 1569 .

In 1722 the parish church (St. Anne) was built.

In the Napoleonic Wars (1809) the place was badly affected.

1835 to 1898 local beer brewery.

The Blindenmarkt station was built between 1856 and 1858, connecting the town to the (today's) Western Railway.

1875 Major fire in the village: Church, school and parsonage burned down.

As early as 1903, very early, there was electricity in Blindenmarkt through a small private hydroelectric power station. From 1927 to 1938, a rural advanced training school was housed in Blindenmarkt, which made Blindenmarkt more important.
