Erwin K. Bauer

Erwin K. Bauer (born May 15, 1965 ) is an Austrian graphic designer and farmer . He is considered a pioneer in the area of ​​barrier-free design, the so-called " inclusive design ". He is the founder and managing director of buero bauer and the include initiative.

Life

Career

Erwin K. Bauer is a trained farmer and studied type and book design as well as graphic design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna . In 1996 he founded the interdisciplinary design office buero bauer based in Vienna. He is also regularly involved in the authorship of specialist publications, judges and curates. He also maintains the Typopassage, a micro-museum for writing. Erwin K. Bauer is married to the art critic Sabine B. Vogel , has three sons and lives in Klosterneuburg.

Teaching activities

Erwin Bauer has been teaching at the University of Applied Arts in the graphic design class since 1993 and at the Technical University of Vienna. He was visiting professor at the New Design University and the Danube University Krems , among others . In 2009 he was named “Austrian of the Year”.
