Peter Gruber (born September 23, 1946 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor, speaker and director.

Live and act

Peter Gruber is a great-nephew of Gustaf Gründgens . He graduated from the Akademisches Gymnasium Vienna and completed the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Acting and Directing. He worked and works on German-speaking theaters such as the Volksoper Vienna , the Theater an der Wien , Wiener Volkstheater , Theater in der Josefstadt , Schauspielhaus (Vienna) , the Salzburg Festival , in Bregenz , Klagenfurt , Tübingen , Düsseldorf , Kaiserslautern , Zurich . He was a television and radio play director for ORF as well as a spokesperson for documentaries (Universum), literary programs and advertising. Gruber is a board member of the International Nestroy Society, the Lower Austria Theater Festival and honorary president of the Austrian voice association VOICE.

As a guest professor for directing and acting, he taught several times at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and at the University of Art in Graz. Currently at the Elfriede Ott drama academy.

Since 1973 he has been artistic director and director of the Nestroy Games in Schwechat . With this over 45-year-old activity, he is the longest serving director of Austria in office.

From 1967 to 1994 he was the voice of the dream man on ORF radio.
