Walter Stelzhammer

Walter Stelzhammer (born June 14, 1950 in Upper Austria) is an Austrian architect and lives in Vienna.

Life

Walter Stelzhammer attended the HTL Krems an der Donau from 1964 to 1969. From 1970 to 1972 he worked at the Plischke architecture firm. From 1970 to 1977 he studied architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with Ernst Anton Plischke , Gustav Peichl and Roland Rainer . After completing his studies, worked from 1977 to 1979 in the architecture office of Prof. Rob Krier and from 1979 to 1981 in the architecture office of Gunther Wawrik . In 1982 Stelzhammer founded his own architecture studio.

From 1982 to 1983 Walter Stelzhammer was assistant to Anton Schweighofer at the institute for building theory at the TU Vienna and from 1989 to 1994 teaching positions at the institute for building construction and design at the TU Vienna with Hans Puchhammer and from 2004 to 2005 at the institute for artistic design at the TU Vienna with András Pálffy.

Walter Stelzhammer was chairman of the federal architects section of the federal chamber of architects and engineering consultants from 2006 to 2010 and president of the regional chamber of architects and engineering consultants for Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland from 2010 to 2014.
