Hans Puchhammer

Hans Puchhammer (* 1931 in Wels ) is an Austrian architect .

Life

Puchhammer studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology from 1949 to 1956 and was assistant at the Institute for Structural Engineering for civil engineers from 1957 to 1964 and professor for structural engineering and design at the Vienna University of Technology from 1978 to 1994.

As an architect, Puchhammer worked from 1950 to 1954 in Roland Rainer's architecture office . He held talks with Lois Welzenbacher at the Academy of Fine Arts and attended the summer academy in Salzburg with Konrad Wachsmann . He has been a freelance architect in Vienna since 1956 and had an office partnership with Gunther Wawrik from 1961 to 1980 .

From 1998 to 2003 Puchhammer was chairman of the monument advisory board in the Federal Monuments Office .
