Roland Ertl (architect)

Roland Ertl (born November 6, 1934 in Linz ; † June 7, 2015 ) was an Austrian architect .

Life

Roland Ertl came from a family of builders. His great-grandfather Johann Ertl, grandfather Josef Ertl and father Ernst Ertl (1899–1962) were builders.

Ertl studied architecture at the Technical University of Vienna . Then practice with the architects Erich Boltenstern and Gustav Peichl in Vienna, as well as employees for the implementation planning of the architects Kaija and Heikki Sirén for the Brucknerhaus in Linz. In 1966 Ertl founded his own architecture office in Linz.

From 1977 to 1999 Ertl was a lecturer for building construction at the Art University Linz .
