geography

Sitzenberg-Reidling is located in Lower Austria and borders the town of Gemeinlebarn and thus also the town of Traismauer , as well as the towns of Zwentendorf an der Donau , Atzenbrugg , Perschling and Herzogenburg .

The area of ​​the municipality covers 22.15 square kilometers. 29.81 percent of the area is forested.

Culture and sights

  • Sitzenberg Castle Summer Games: The Sitzenberg Castle Summer Games were founded in 2004 by actress and director Michaela Ehrenstein. In 2015 Peter Fernbach and Martin Gesslbauer were appointed as artistic directors. The Sitzenberger water lily is awarded during the summer games . Laureates included Marcus Strahl (2009), Martin Gesslbauer (2014), Stephan Paryla (2017), Adriana Zartl (2018) and Markus Freistätter (2019). In 2020, the games were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

There are four volunteer fire departments in Sitzenberg-Reidling (Hasendorf Fire Department, Reidling Fire Department, Sitzenberg Fire Department and Thallern Fire Department).
