Sitzenberg-Reidling is a municipality with 2240 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Tulln district in Lower Austria .

Sitzenberg-Reidling is located in Lower Austria and borders the town of Gemeinlebarn and thus also the town of Traismauer , as well as the towns of Zwentendorf an der Donau , Atzenbrugg , Perschling and Herzogenburg .

The area of the municipality covers 22.15 square kilometers. 29.81 percent of the area is forested.

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 1921 inhabitants. In 1991 the community had 1701 inhabitants, in 1981 1732 and in 1971 1649 inhabitants.

Sitzenberg Castle Summer Games: The Sitzenberg Castle Summer Games were founded in 2004 by actress and director Michaela Ehrenstein. In 2015 Peter Fernbach and Martin Gesslbauer were appointed as artistic directors. The Sitzenberger water lily is awarded during the summer games . Laureates included Marcus Strahl (2009), Martin Gesslbauer (2014), Stephan Paryla (2017), Adriana Zartl (2018) and Markus Freistätter (2019). In 2020, the games were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

economy

In 2001 there were 70 non-agricultural workplaces, agricultural and forestry operations 78 according to the 1999 survey. According to the 2001 census, the number of people in employment at the place of residence was 891. The 2001 activity rate was 48.04 percent.

The Lower Austrian Central Business Park is located as an inter-communal operating area with a current area of 16 ha (January 31, 2005).

The following companies are located in the operating area: Grasl Pneumatic-Mechanik GmbH, VKF Renzel, Lebensmitteltechnik Keiblinger, Elektro-Eder, Weber GmbH and Porzellanmanufaktur Reidling GmbH .

Voluntary fire brigades

There are four volunteer fire departments in Sitzenberg-Reidling (Hasendorf Fire Department, Reidling Fire Department, Sitzenberg Fire Department and Thallern Fire Department). They belong to the fire brigade subsection UA5 Sitzenberg-Reidling and the fire brigade section Atzenbrugg. HBI Joachim Krammer has been in command of the UA5 since 2011.

Important associations are the Sitzenberg-Reidling cultural association, the Sitzenberg-Reidling nature lovers, the Sitzenberg-Reidling sports club, the Sitzenberg-Reidling volleyball section, the Sitzenberg-Reidling rural youth, the Sitzenberg-Reidling music association and the Kunterbunt village stage.
