history

Schlossberg Tulbing, 3rd land survey around 1872

In 1109 the name Tulpingun was first mentioned in a document. The castle Tulbing was on a hill 100 meters southeast of the parish church. The castle hill was bordered by a moat to the west and south, and another upstream moat could come into question to the south-west. To the north, the area continues to the church; to the east, the area is bounded by a distinctive ditch. The center of the Schlossberg is crowned by a 60 by 60 m plateau on which there are now several houses.

The town of Tulbing was devastated by the first Turkish siege of Vienna in 1529. The Second Siege of Vienna by the Turks in 1683 also caused great damage, above all to the churches of the parishes.
