Königstetten is a market town with 2526 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Tulln district in Lower Austria .
geography
Königstetten is located south of Langenlebarn , Muckendorf-Wipfing and Zeiselmauer-Wolfpassing on the southern edge of the Tullnerfeld and on the northern edge of the Vienna Woods in Lower Austria . The area of the market town covers 13.04 square kilometers, 42.07 percent of which is forested.
By the municipality of flow of Tulbing coming main ditch with its tributaries Eberhartsbach and Marleitenbach .

The name Königstetten is derived from Chunihohesstetin . Chunihohe is a Middle High German male name. The first mention can be found in a document from Bishop Pilgrim of Passau (971–991).

According to the results of the 2001 census , there were 1888 inhabitants. In 1991 the market town had 1635 inhabitants, in 1981 1308 and in 1971 1202 inhabitants.

In 2001 there were 78 non-agricultural workplaces, agricultural and forestry operations according to the 1999 survey 27. The number of people in work at the place of residence was 895 according to the 2001 census. In 2001 the activity rate was 48.99 percent.
There are several wine taverns in Königstetten .
societies
The place has a brass band and a strong association. Furthermore, the volunteer fire brigade celebrates its 140th anniversary in 2014 and is the oldest fire brigade in Tullnerfeld.
Sports
A public swimming pool has existed in Königstetten since 1905. The "Parkbad", which had previously been abandoned for financial reasons, was redesigned in 2010 and reopened in July 2010.
The sport shooting club in Königstetten, founded in 1973, achieved many international successes.
