Markus Freistätter (* 1990 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Markus Freistätter attended HTBLuVA Vienna 5 Spengergasse from 2005 , where he graduated in 2010 . After training as a paramedic, he began studying drama at the Vienna Conservatory from September 2011, and successfully completed his studies in June 2015.

In 2013 he was seen at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Filumena Marturano in a production by Thomas Birkmeir , who brought him to the Theater der Jugend , where he played the role of Orazio Zorzotto in the stage version of Nennt mich nicht Ismael! embodied and was seen as Ricky in Freak and as Benka in Kalle Blomquist . At the Wachaufestspiele in 2013 he was part of The Lower Ten Thousand , in 2014 as Hans in Hofrat Geiger and in 2016 in Der Brandner Kaspar und das Ewig 'Leben , directed by Marcus Strahl . In 2015 he played in Alma - A Show Biz at the end of Paulus Manker in the Serbenhalle in Wiener Neustadt .

In 2017 he was directed by Reinhold Bilgeri for the shooting of the film Erik & Erika about the ski racer Erik Schinegger , in which he played the title role. As part of the 2018 Romy Awards , he was nominated in the Best Male Young Talent category. Also in 2017 he shot for the film The Last Party of Your Life by Dominik Hartl . He is a member of the Academy of Austrian Films . At the summer games in Sitzenberg-Reidling under the direction of Martin Gesslbauer, he celebrated its premiere in June 2019 as Stani in Hofmannsthal's Der Schwierige .
