Romy award 2018
The 2018 Romy Awards took place on April 7, 2018 in the Vienna Hofburg . The awarding of the Austrian television and film prize Romy , organized by the daily newspaper Kurier , took place for the 29th time and was broadcast for the 28th time by ORF . The event was moderated for the third time in a row by Andi Knoll and Katharina Straßer . The namesake of the award, Romy Schneider , who would have celebrated her 80th birthday in September 2018, was particularly honored . On April 6, 2018, one day after the awarding of the Academy Awards and one day before the awarding of the Audience Awards, the Vienna premiere of the film took place 3 days in Quiberon .

The Academy Awards were presented in a special ceremony on April 5, 2018 in the Grand Hotel Vienna . A summary of the award was broadcast on ORF2 on April 6 and presented by Maria Happel . The nominations were announced on March 3, 2018. The ROMY Academy consists of the previous Romy winners, over 400 people.
For the first time, a Romy was awarded for the best TV series.
