Nadja Bernhard
Nadja Bernhard (born September 17, 1975 in Windsor , Canada ) is an Austrian TV journalist. She was the ORF correspondent for Italy and the USA . She has been working at the ORF headquarters in Vienna since 2011 and has been the presenter of Zeit im Bild since December 2012 .
Life
Nadja Bernhard moved with eight years in the Styria and graduated in 1994 at the High School Leibnitz the Matura , then she studied journalism and art history at the University of Vienna . During this time she also worked at the Institute for Journalism. She later studied for a semester at La Sapienza University .
She came to ORF in 1999, where she initially worked with the translation for the Academy Awards . Nadja Bernhard later worked as a producer in the ORF studio in Rome . After a brief activity in the Styrian regional studio, she moved back to Rome as a freelance journalist, where she was the second ORF correspondent from September 2005 to June 2008. From July 2008 to July 2010, Bernhard reported from Washington, DC During this time, Barack Obama was elected US President and the earthquake disaster in Haiti (January 2010).
In January 2011 she moved her job to the ORF center in Vienna (foreign editorial office). She returned to Haiti on the anniversary of the earthquake, reported on the Egyptian revolution from Cairo and the unrest in London. Further assignments took her to Libya (Tripoli) and Iraq (Baghdad, Arbil) in 2011 .
Bernhard also worked as a journalist on articles for ABC and BBC . She moderates events on international issues in the fields of science and politics.
From March to December 2012, Nadja Bernhard presented the cultural program Kulturmontag on ORF , alternating with Martin Traxl , and from September 2012 also the ORF matinee (cultural morning). Since December 2012 she has moderated ZIB 1 (7:30 p.m.): until December 31, 2013 with Eugen Freund , since January 1, 2014 with Rainer Hazivar or since 2015 with Tarek Leitner .
From August 2018, Bernhard moderated the ORF summer talks together with Hans Bürger .
