Martin Traxl
Martin Traxl (born May 29, 1964 in Carinthia ) is an Austrian journalist and television presenter . He has been TV culture director at ORF since 2007 and presents the TV program Kulturmontag .
Life
Martin Traxl attended the Peraugymnasium in Villach from 1974 to 1978 and then studied journalism and theater studies . He has been working for ORF since 1985, and gained his first journalistic experience at the current service in the ORF regional studio in Carinthia and the Kärntner Kronen Zeitung . From 1987 onwards, as a member of the ORF culture section for radio in Vienna, he designed, among other things, contributions for the morning and midday journal on Ö1 and moderated the theater magazine Im Rampenlicht . In 1993 he developed the culture magazine Leporello .
From 1995 to 1997 he presented cultural news as part of the Zeit im Bild (ZiB), and he also designed reports for the television programs Treffpunkt Kultur and Am Schauplatz . From 1998 to 2002 he hosted together with Danielle Spera the ZiB1 . In 1999 he was appointed head of cultural information in the television culture department. From 2005 he was program planner and coordinator for ORF- 3sat . Since January 2007 he has been TV cultural director of the ORF, since April 2007 he has also presented the TV program Kulturmontag and the ORF matinee on Sunday mornings, alternating with Nadja Bernhard and Clarissa Stadler .
Traxl is chairman of the board of trustees of the Carinthian Art and Culture Foundation initiated by Monika Kircher .
