Morning journal

The morning journal is an information broadcast of the current service of the Austrian radio station Ö1 , which brings news from politics, culture and science as well as the weather and stock market reports every morning at 7:00 to 7:33 and 8:00 to 8:20. This broadcast came about after the Warsaw Pact invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968 .

The counterparts to the morning journal are the midday journal (which was created in 1967 after the radio referendum ), the evening journal and the night journal .

The morning journal is followed by around 250,000 listeners.

In 2016 and 2017, the Morgenjournal was recognized as the best news program at the Austrian Radio Prize.
