Austrian Radio Prize

The Austrian Radio Prize has been awarded since 2015 and is a joint initiative of ORF , the Association of Austrian Private Broadcasters (VÖP) and the Media Department of Rundfunk und Telekom Regulierungs-GmbH (RTR-GmbH). Outstanding achievements in Austrian public and private radio programs from the previous year are honored.

The price

The Austrian Radio Prize is awarded by an independent jury; the jury members are selected by the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences . In 2015 the prize was awarded in nine categories, and in 2016 two more categories were added with the categories Best Newcomer and Best Regional Report.

2015

Winner of the Austrian Radio Prize 2015

A total of 127 contributions and 62 hours of audio material were submitted for the Austrian Radio Prize 2015. The award took place in a gala event on June 1, 2015 in the Vienna City Hall .

The prize was awarded in the following categories:

2016

The award took place in a gala event on June 20, 2016 in the Vienna City Hall. The event was moderated by Dani Linzer and Andi Knoll , the music was framed by The Common Linnets , Lemo as well as Robb and Monthaye. The award was broadcast on June 21, 2016 on ORF III .

The prize was awarded in 2016 in the following categories:

  • Best Comedy:
    • Gold: The Antenne Rapzepte (Antenne Kärnten)
    • Silver: Lower Austrian for advanced learners ( Radio Niederösterreich )
    • Bronze: Star Lords Hoamatland - The Struggle for Power ( Life Radio Oberösterreich)
  • Best innovation:
    • Gold: KRONEHIT TV (KroneHit)
    • Silver: speech synthesis, voice tracking and live moderation ( Mein Kinderradio )
    • Bronze: The FM4 Player (FM4)
  • Best verbal contribution:
    • Gold: Nadja Hahn and Elisabeth Stratka for audio images "For a piece of happiness" (Ö1)
    • Silver: Marlene Groihofer for The Only One Who Survived ( Radio Klassik Stephansdom )
    • Bronze: Michael Koch for The Hour of the State Treaty (Radio Niederösterreich)
  • Best promotion:
    • Gold: Ö3 Christmas Miracle (Ö3)
    • Silver: Mission Kran (Antenne Steiermark)
    • Bronze: 88.6 - the first radio for the deaf (88.6 Der Musiksender)
  • Best regional report:
    • Gold: Karin Stangl for Hubertuskapelle in Hinterbichl (Radio Osttirol)
    • Silver: Fabian Fessler for Schlossteich dries up (Radio Niederösterreich)
    • Bronze: Gerlinde Wallner for the last of their kind: The oldest cinema in Austria (Radio Klassik Stephansdom)

2017

The award ceremony took place in a gala event on June 26, 2017 in the Vienna City Hall. The event was moderated by Anita Ableidinger and Andi Knoll , the music was framed by Julian le Play , Thorsteinn Einarsson and Granada . The award was broadcast on June 27, 2017 on ORF III .

The prize was awarded in 2017 in the following categories:

  • Best music show:
    • Gold: FM4 Music Education ( FM4 )
    • Silver: 88.6 The 90s, between trash and cult ( Radio 88.6 )
    • Bronze: Classical in the evening plagiarism and musical recycling ( Radio Niederösterreich )
  • Best innovation:

  • Best regional report:
    • Gold: 88.6 City escape when the big city becomes too expensive ( Radio 88.6 )
    • Silver: When the water came ( Radio Osttirol )
