Robert Kratky (born May 16, 1973 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian radio presenter .

Career

Radio and television

After dropping out of school, the winner of the Salzburg State Speech Contest started at Radio Salzburg . After the first moderation at the Ö3 youth magazine ZickZack , he was discovered by the ORF radio station Ö3 and has moderated the Ö3 Wecker ever since , first as a substitute for Hary Raithofer , after whose departure he took over the main moderation. Before his appointment as the main presenter of the Ö3-Wecker , Kratky had worked as chief author, producer, reporter, producer and designer since 1991 and created comedies such as the "Vignettenman", the "Mikromann" or "Oma Raithofer & Grandpa Kratky" for several years were on air with great public success and in some cases achieved cult status.

On ORF television, he hosted the adapted BBC - television format Austria's worst car driver as well as the final show Düsseldorf we are coming! Moderator of "Ö3 Christmas Miracle"

From December 19 to 24, 2014, Kratky, together with Gabi Hiller and Andi Knoll, designed for the first time a total of 5 days or 120 hours non-stop continuous moderation of the live broadcast of the Ö3 Christmas miracle from an Ö3 dream hut on the Salzburger Kapitelplatz , in favor of the humanitarian action light into darkness . During the moderation and donation campaign, the three moderators were only allowed to take tea, fruit and vegetable juices and soups, but no solid food. Another challenge for the moderation trio was around four hours of sleep per night during the five days under constant public observation . The campaign raised a total donation of 617,582 euros for the Licht-ins-Dunkel emergency aid fund, which helps families in need. On December 23, 2015, the station Hitradio Ö3 with the moderators Gabi Hiller, Robert Kratky and Andi Knoll was awarded the Austrian Event Award in silver in the category “Public Events Charity / Social / Cultural” for this Ö3 Christmas Miracle.

From December 19 to 24, 2015 Gabi Hiller, Robert Kratky and Andi Knoll moderated a new edition of the Ö3 Christmas miracle, which this year took place on Graz's Mariahilferplatz , right in front of the Mariahilferkirche . The fundraising campaign was similar to that in 2014, with the intended goal again being as large a donation as possible for the Licht-ins-Dunkel emergency aid fund . After 120 hours of uninterrupted live broadcast on December 24, 2015, the total amount of donations collected was 1,022,936 euros. On June 20, 2016, the Ö3 Christmas Miracle was awarded the Austrian Radio Prize as the best promotional campaign.

Life

Robert Kratky grew up in Salzburg- Riedenburg and now lives in Stein an der Donau . He has a sister Inge and a brother Thomas.
