Radio Salzburg is the regional radio for Salzburg operated by ORF as part of the Austria 2 ( Austria-Regional ) station. The broadcasts of ORF Salzburg are produced and processed in the Salzburg regional studio in Salzburg . The music scheme ranges from oldies, modern songs, hit hits to folk music. Every half hour there is regional news and full world news. The information content is mainly limited to Salzburg and Austria, but very high.

Christoph Takacs has been the director of the Salzburg State Studio since January 1, 2017 . Christopher Pöhl is the program director.

The station was founded in 1960 as a second radio program after the technical center had moved from the city of Salzburg to the nearby Gaisberg.

In 1989, Radio Salzburg was the most popular regional program in Austria with a market share of 55%.

Range

Radio Salzburg is one of the most popular regional broadcasters on ORF.

He is also particularly popular in Bavaria, v. a. as an alternative to Bayern 1 .

In Germany, Radio Salzburg can be heard far into the country because of the powerful Gaisberg transmitter and its very exposed location. This means that if the weather is very good, the entire east and south-east of Bavaria can be covered. With foehn the transmission area even extends into the Altmühltal .

In the federal state of Salzburg, it is the program with the second highest audience rating; among senior citizens, Radio Salzburg has the highest audience rating. Radio Salzburg is No. 1, especially in the city of Salzburg , only Ö3 has a higher proportion .

The only competitor in the state of Salzburg is the Antenne Salzburg under private law .

The current program schedule consists of a mixture of music, news, service, sport, culture and talk radio with the focus on the Salzburg region and its catchment area. In addition to music, the program also focuses on broad reporting on topics from the areas of society, entertainment, sport, politics, culture and religion. Midday bells
