Radio Steiermark is the Ö2 regional program of the ORF for the second largest Austrian state, Styria .
Radio Steiermark's traditional program is German and folk hits , oldies from the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s, soft pop and Austropop . Audience wishes are fulfilled.
"Radio Steiermark" has been broadcasting a full 24-hour program since January 1st, 2002. Every hour - every half hour between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. - news with weather and traffic services is broadcast, with contributions on international or national political issues being produced in Vienna . Topics with local relevance are dealt with by the Styria editorial team. Background reports from politics, business, culture, sport and current affairs shape the information on Radio Styria. Service and orientation are provided by health and medical topics, questions of consumer protection, school and education topics, tips for books, hiking and cycling tours, the animal search section: "Dog and cat" and church services. Every day from 8:00 p.m. (Saturday from 9:00 p.m.) topics and content apart from the core programming find their place: folk music and folk culture (“Musikanten plays it” and “Klingende Steiermark”), serious music, jazz, cabaret and cabaret Literature, etc. Also on Sunday mornings, the “morning pint” is an hour dedicated to folk music.
It is broadcast from the ORF regional studio in Graz .

Due to competition from private broadcasters such as Antenne Steiermark , KroneHit , Radio Soundportal , 89.6 - Das Musikradio , A1 Radio or Radio Grün-Weiß , Radio Steiermark has lost listeners, but with more than 400,000 listeners is still the clear market leader among regional broadcasters in the Styria. In the target group aged 10 and over, the station achieved a daily reach of 37.9% and a market share of 41% in the second half of 2006. In the group of 14 to 49 year olds, the market share is 25%. The station is particularly successful with older listeners: the market share in the 35+ age group is 54%.
