List of radio stations

Radio 1476 was a radio broadcaster of the ORF , which enabled different groups to broadcast their programs. Until the end of 2008 the station Bisamberg broadcasted on medium wave with a frequency of 1476 kHz, hence the name of the station. The range of programs was expanded by broadcasting various program elements from Ö1 and some ORF in-house productions.

This frequency has been used again since March 29, 2020. There is a 1 kW transmitter in Bad Ischl that is operated as a museum radio AM 1476. The main item on the program is "Pirnis Plattenkiste", which has been broadcast by ORF Radio Salzburg since 2005. The program is broadcast over the Internet and via the medium-wave transmitter.

history

In 1933 the Bisamberg transmitter was put into operation with an output of 100 kW and in 1945 at the end of the Second World War it was blown up again by SS troops . In 1950 the transmitter with 35 kW was provisionally put back into operation and in 1959 the new Bisamberg transmission system with four 120 kW transmitters was put into operation until a 600 kW transmitter began operating in 1975. Since the Cold War could be considered over, the ORF stopped broadcasting on medium wave in 1994/1995 .

Only two years later (1997) the transmission was resumed with the 120 kW transmitters, but with a limited transmission power of only 60 kW. At the same time, the independent program of Radio 1476 was started. In 1999, the 600 kW transmitter was switched on for the Neighbor in Need campaign . In 2000/2001 the old 120 kW transmitters were replaced by a new 100 kW transistor transmitter.

On December 31, 2008, terrestrial broadcasting was discontinued and replaced by the web radio oe1campus .
