The Voice of Vietnam ( Vietnamese Đài Tiếng nói Việt Nam , English The Voice of Vietnam , official abbreviation VOV ) is the state radio operator of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam . It was founded on September 7, 1945; its legal basis is an ordinance from 2018. For information on the independent television provider since 1977, see VTV .

Foreign service

The Voice of Vietnam Foreign Service broadcasts in 13 languages: Vietnamese, Chinese, German, English, French, Indonesian, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Lao, Russian, Spanish and Thai.

The German service has been broadcast since March 1, 2006. The first German-language broadcast could be received well in Germany from 15:30 to 16:00 UTC on 7280 kHz. It was broadcast directly from Vietnam. The show was repeated in the early evening. The voice of Vietnam shortly after ended the broadcasts of the German program on the broadcasting facilities near Hanoi.

The daily half-hour broadcast in German has been transmitted by satellite to the Skelton relay station in England since November 2006 and broadcast from there via shortwave in the direction of Germany . Until 2016, the voice of Vietnam broadcast two half-hour German-language programs on shortwave via transmission systems in the United Arab Emirates. The German-language program of the Voice of Vietnam is currently broadcast twice a day via broadcasting systems in Vietnam. In parallel to terrestrial broadcasting , the programs can also be heard via the Internet and one of the Hot Bird satellites. A live stream broadcast in English is offered by VOV5.
