Radio Taiwan International (RTI, Chinese  中央 廣播 電台 , Pinyin Zhōngyāng guǎngbō diàntái ) is the international service of the Republic of China in Taiwan .

history

Radio Taiwan International is the successor to the Central Broadcasting System (CBS), founded in 1928 in Nanjing by the Kuomintang (KMT), and the former international service Voice of Free China . Both stations merged in 1998. The new station was initially called Radio Taipei International and was given its current name in 2003. In contrast to CBS, which served as the voice of the KMT in Germany, RTI is now the public broadcaster responsible for international broadcasting.

Radio Taiwan International currently broadcasts in the following languages: Standard Chinese (Mandarin), Minnan , Hakka , Cantonese , English , French , German , Russian , Spanish , Japanese , Vietnamese , Thai and Indonesian .
