Radio Vorarlberg is the regional radio for Vorarlberg operated by ORF as part of the channel Österreich 2 ( Austria-Regional ). The broadcasts of the ORF Vorarlberg are produced and processed in the Landesstudio Vorarlberg in Dornbirn . The music scheme ranges from oldies, modern songs to folk music. Every half hour there is regional news and full world news. The information content is mainly limited to Vorarlberg and Austria, but very high. The public broadcaster is number one in the overall radio market (people aged 10 and over) in Vorarlberg .

The current program schedule consists of a mixture of music, news, service, sport, culture and talk radio with the focus on the Vorarlberg region and its catchment area. In addition to music, the program also focuses on broad reporting on topics from the areas of society, entertainment, sport, politics, culture and religion. The responsible editors have the opportunity to join the program live and report on current events on site. On certain occasions (for example the annual opening of the Bregenz Festival or the Mösle Meeting in Götzis), a mobile, fully equipped radio studio ("glass studio") is installed directly at the location where the event takes place, through which the respective programs can be handled independently of the regional studio.

Radio Vorarlberg mainly plays music from the 19 70s , 80s and 90s and modern songs up to 2018. The program is aimed at target groups aged 35 and over from the Vorarlberg region and neighboring regions in Switzerland (up to Zurich or Chur ), in Germany (entire Lake Constance area to the Black Forest ) and Liechtenstein .

Radio Vorarlberg presents 24/7 world news every hour on the hour , providing information from Austria and the world. The broadcaster delivers current regional news every half hour, which is published on the website at the same time. The main news programs are the Landesrundschauen (morning, noon and evening) and the journal at 5:00 p.m.

Radio Vorarlberg regularly provides current weather and traffic information, which is also included in the program independently of the news blocks.

Culture

Radio Vorarlberg offers a comprehensive cultural program. This includes the program "Kultur", which is broadcast in the evenings every weekday, and the special programs immediately following that: "Das Konzert" (Monday), "Sound-Check" (Tuesday), "Im Ländle groovts" (Wednesday), "Österreichhits" (Thursday) and "Kulthits" (Friday).

Market shares

Radio Vorarlberg is number one in the overall radio market (people aged 10 and over) in Vorarlberg. For the first half of 2016, a market share of 32% on a weekly average was determined, for the entire year 2016 it is 33% and thus of 100 radio minutes listened to in Vorarlberg 33 are accounted for by Radio Vorarlberg. In the second half of 2015, Radio Vorarlberg still had a 37% market share.

For people over 35 years of age, a total of 40 out of 100 radio minutes listened to daily were on Radio Vorarlberg in the first half of 2016, and 41 for the full year 2016, making it the market leader in this target group. Here, too, the radio lost 7 percentage points, from a previous 47%, compared to the second half of 2015.

In the advertising-relevant target group of 14 to 49 year olds, the market share in the first half of 2016, as well as in 2016 as a whole, was 18%, in the second half of 2015 it was 24%. The daily reach was 22.3% on weekdays in 2016, in the first half of 2016 it was still 20.8% (second half of 2015: 22.1%). As a total weekly average, the daily reach in 2016 was 20.1%.

In 2016, 115,000 people listened to the regional radio every day from Monday to Friday in Vorarlberg alone, 107,000 people from Monday to Sunday. In the second half of 2015, 114,000 people tuned into Radio Vorarlberg in Vorarlberg alone from Monday to Friday, and 112,000 people a day from Monday to Sunday.

In summary, all ORF radio programs in Vorarlberg have a market share of 64 percent.
