Sideways glances magazine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Seitenblicke magazine was an Austrian magazine , which was published from 2005 to 2016 and dealt with national and international stars, Society, style and lifestyle issues. The publisher was Karl Abentheuer, the last editor-in-chief was Daniela Schimke. The Seitenblicke Magazin was not the print edition of the society magazine Seitenblicke, which was broadcast by the ORF, despite the fact that it had the same name, and it had no editorial contact with it.

history

The magazine was relaunched in February 2005 by Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz and produced by his Red Bull Media House Publishing GmbH , based in Vienna's 14th district. In 2000, the real estate dealer Ernst Karl Plech , together with ex- FPÖ General Secretary Walter Meischberger, launched the then monthly people magazine "Seitenblicke". Meischberger also acted as managing director. In March 2004, Mateschitz, together with the former motocross racing driver Heinz Kinigadner and ex- KTM board member Markus Stauder, acquired the majority in Seitenblicke Verlagsgesellschaft, after having previously been involved in it. The former shareholders subsequently withdrew completely from the publishing house. On February 24, 2005, the completely revised magazine appeared for the first time in the new, eye-catching color pink, which was the trademark of Seitenblicke magazine for a long time.

Since 1 October 2010, the sideways glances magazine was part of the Red Bull Media House GmbH in which, among other things, the magazine The Red Bulletin , Terra Mater, mountain landscapes , Servus in Town & Country and Servus children as well as the TV channel Servus TV are located .

In October 2016 it was announced that the Red Bull Media House would discontinue the Seitenblicke magazine and instead focus on the Seitenblicke.at online presence. The print product appeared for the last time on December 7, 2016. On February 15, 2017, it was announced that the seitenblicke.at website would also be discontinued at the end of March 2017.

Edition

One year after the relaunch, the new magazine, which has appeared fortnightly since the takeover, had a circulation of 49,726. In March 2007 the publication interval was changed to weekly; the print run in 2008 was 80,461 copies per issue. From January 2013 Seitenblicke Magazin appeared again every fortnight before it became a monthly magazine in May 2016.

Web

Seitenblicke Online, the website of Seitenblicke Magazin, also started in February 2005 and in January 2016 had around 700,000 visits, 320,000 unique clients and 1.9 million page impressions. Michael Reichelt was editor-in-chief of www.seitenblicke.at from 2005 to 2016, before Karl Abentheuer took over this position. The website finally went offline on March 15, 2017.
