Peter Meissner (* 1953 in Baden , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian cabaret artist , composer , presenter and author .

Life

After writing his first texts and song compositions during his school days, Peter Meissner appeared for the first time in 1974 in the ORF -Show-Chance, a talent competition organized by Ö3 under the direction of Evamaria Kaiser . The result was a first record deal and numerous radio and TV appearances. In addition, he studied mechanical engineering / business administration at the Vienna University of Technology and completed this training in 1980. In 1976 Peter Meissner also began working as a moderator and editor at the ORF regional studio in Lower Austria , an occupation that he ultimately made his main occupation. Until his retirement in 2018 he presented the programs “Melodie und Nostalgie”, “Da Capo”, “Klassik am Abend” and “Swingtime” on Radio-NÖ. Peter Meissner has also remained very active artistically. So far he has written around 240 songs and published them on a total of 26 records. As someone who spent a lot of time in his grandfather's bookstore, he is fond of writing. So in 2000 the first book with sketches, short stories and poems was created, which has been followed by five more volumes so far. The three Christmas books were particularly successful. Angels also love to laugh! , Angels like to keep laughing too! And angels like to laugh again too! .

Peter Meissner is married privately and lives in Pfaffstätten .
