Rainer Hazivar

Rainer Hazivar (* 1966 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and television presenter . He is the recipient of the Robert Hochner Prize .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1984, Rainer Hazivar began some study attempts and was involved with the Austrian student body , among other things for the action group as chairman of the faculty representation at the law faculty of the University of Vienna . From 1990 to 1992 he worked as a freelancer for the daily newspaper Der Standard . From 1993 he worked for the current service of the ORF -Landesstudios Wien, from 1997 to 2001 for the television program Report and from 2001 as a domestic policy editor at ORF Radio. In October 2008 he changed to the editorial team of ZIB2 .

From January 2010, Rainer Hazivar joined the ZIB moderation team at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. From January 1, 2014, Rainer Hazivar presented the main news program ( time in the picture at 7:30 p.m.) alongside Nadja Bernhard , and since 2015 also together with Marie-Claire Zimmermann . He succeeded Eugen Freund , who left ORF and was elected to the EU Parliament. In November 2018 Hazivar returned to the radio station Austria 1 , Johannes Marlovits was presented as his successor as the presenter of Zeit im Bild.

Hazivar is the father of four children from multiple relationships.

Awards

In 2007 Hazivar was awarded the Robert Hochner Prize. The jury recognized his " Columbo- like depth, linguistically brilliant analyzes, critical distance to all sides and measured irony".
