Johannes Marlovits

Johannes Marlovits (born January 24, 1971 in Oberwart ) is an Austrian television journalist and presenter of Zeit im Bild .

Life

After completing elementary school in Rechnitz, Johannes Marlovits attended the Oberschützen Federal High School , where he graduated from the Federal Upper Secondary School in 1989 . He then studied Catholic theology as well as pedagogy and special and curative pedagogy in Vienna , graduating from the University of Vienna in 1995 with a master's degree .

In 1996 he began his career at ORF in the Lower Austria regional studio as an editor and presenter. From 1999 he was editor, presenter and boss in the news desk of the radio station Ö3 . From 2002 to the end of 2003 he reported for the ORF as a foreign correspondent from Washington, DC Afterwards he was deputy chronicle department head in the radio information department in 2004 and until 2007 editor in the foreign television department. Until 2010 he acted as deputy broadcast manager of ZIB 2 . He then worked as a correspondent in Berlin until 2013 , where, in addition to reporting on Germany, he was also responsible for the Scandinavian countries and, among other things, reported on the attacks in Norway in 2011 and the trial against Anders Behring Breivik .

He has been part of the editorial team of ZIB 2 again since 2014 and presented the ZIB at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. until the beginning of 2019 . After Rainer Hazivar's return to Austria 1 , Marlovits has been presenting the main news together with Susanne Höggerl since January 2019 at 7.30 p.m. In January 2020 it was announced that Tobias Pötzelsberger would follow him as the moderator of Zeit in Fig. 1 from Easter . Marlovits should in future take on editorial responsibility in the course of restructured TV information. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the change was postponed, Marlovits moderated his last time in picture 1 on April 30, 2020.
