Tobias Pötzelsberger (born May 11, 1983 in Upper Austria ) is an Austrian journalist and singer-songwriter .

Life

Pötzelsberger grew up in Lochen am See (a municipality in the Braunau am Inn district ).

In 2008 he completed his political science studies at the University of Salzburg . His diploma thesis was devoted to the effects of the BAWAG scandal on the ÖGB .

journalism

Pötzelsberger worked for the radio factory , the Salzburger Nachrichten and from 2004 for the ORF Salzburg, most recently as a spokesman for Salzburg today .

In October 2018 he moved to Vienna, where he works as the newscaster of Zeit im Bild and is mainly used for the issues at 9, 11 and 1 p.m.

He became known to a wider public through special broadcasts lasting several hours in connection with the resignation of Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache in the wake of the Ibiza affair on May 18, 2019.

In 2019 he led the ORF summer talks with the party leaders of the parties represented in parliament.

In January 2020 it was announced that he would succeed Johannes Marlovits as moderator of Zeit in Fig. 1 from Easter . Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the change has been postponed to May 2020.

With his band The More or The Less , Pötzelsberger released the albums We, the people (2009) and Keep Calm (2012). The second album was awarded the Heimo Pea Prize in 2012.
