Domingos Quina (born November 18, 1999 in Bissau , Guinea-Bissau ) is a Portuguese football player who plays as a midfielder for Watford FC . He plays in the central and attacking midfield.

Career

Quina played for Benfica in his youth and moved to the Chelsea FC academy in England in 2013 . Quina decided to sign with West Ham United in May 2016, with the expectation that he would join the squad in July 2016 and sign a professional contract on his 17th birthday in November 2016. He made his debut as a substitute for Michail Antonio in the 81st minute against NK Domzale in the Europa League on July 28, 2016. At the age of 17, Quina signed his first professional contract with West Ham in November 2016, which tied him to the club until 2019 .

On August 9, 2018 Quina signed with FC Watford a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee from an estimated 1 million pounds sterling . He made his Watford debut on August 29 in a second round of the League Cup against Reading FC . In this game he scored the goal from 30 meters to make it 2-0. He made his Premier League debut for the club on December 4, 2018 as a substitute in a 2-1 home defeat to Manchester City and his first league start came in the next game, December 10, 2018, in a 2-2 away against Everton FC . On December 15, he became the youngest Watford player in Premier League history to score in a game against Cardiff City .

National team

With the national team of Portugal, he won the U-17 European Championship in 2016 and the U-19 European Championship in 2018 . In addition, he was elected to the team of the tournament at both tournaments.

Personal

Quina was born in Guinea-Bissau and came to Portugal as a child. His father is the former professional footballer Samuel Quina , who made 5 appearances for Portugal in the 1990s.
