Daniel Nii Tackie Mensah "Danny" Welbeck (born November 26, 1990 in Manchester ) is an English football player who is under contract with Watford FC in the English Premier League .
Player career
National
After Danny Welbeck, son of Ghanaian parents, was accepted into the Manchester United youth team in 2005 at the age of 14 , he made his debut for the Manchester United first team in the League Cup on November 11, 2008 at the age of 17 at the 1-0 Home win over Queens Park Rangers and set up Carlos Tévez's winning goal . Four days later, on November 15, 2008, after being substituted on for Park Ji-sung, he made it 4-0 in his Premier League debut against Stoke City . In January 2010 he was awarded for the rest of the season at Preston North End , where Darren Ferguson , son of United coach Alex Ferguson , had recently taken over the coaching post.
In August 2010, Welbeck was loaned to Sunderland AFC .
For the 2011/12 season Welbeck returned to Manchester United and was able to earn a regular place next to Wayne Rooney in the storm in the first season games .
On September 1, 2014 Welbeck moved to Arsenal FC .
Shortly before the start of the 2019/20 season, Welbeck moved to Watford FC .
International
Danny Welbeck made his debut in October 2005 at the age of 14 in England's U16 national team. For the U-17s he scored the decisive goal in the qualifying game against Serbia for participation in the U-17 European Football Championship in 2007 . In the tournament itself, Welbeck reached the final with his team and qualified for the U-17 World Cup in 2007 (it was the first U17 World Cup for England). In the game against New Zealand Welbeck scored two goals and helped the team advance to the quarter-finals of the tournament. On March 29, 2011 Welbeck made his debut for the English senior team in a friendly match ; The opponent was Ghana of all places. When he was substituted on, he was whistled by the supporters of Ghana, as Welbeck was also eligible to play for the Ghanaians.
