Thomas William Cleverley (born August 12, 1989 in Basingstoke ) is an English football player who is under contract with Watford FC .

Career

Tom Cleverley played for Manchester United when he was young . In 2008 he was appointed to the professional squad.

The top club loaned him to the second division Leicester City in January 2009 . He made his professional debut on February 17, 2009 when he was substituted on for Lloyd Dyer in the 60th minute on Matchday 24, in the 2-2 draw against Hartlepool United . Tom Cleverley scored his first goal for his club, which was also the first goal of his active professional career, on March 3, 2009, when he played on matchday 30, in the 4-1 win against FC Walsall , in the 47th minute scored the goal to make it 3-0. Within half a year Cleverley came to 15 missions, where he got two hits.

In August 2009, Manchester United awarded Cleverley back to the English second division, the Football League Championship . This time, however, to Watford FC . At the U-21 European Championship, the English selection was eliminated after the group stage. On August 15, Cleverley made his international debut under Roy Hodgson in a 2-1 win over Italy.
