Adalberto Peñaranda Maestre (born May 31, 1997 in Alberto Adriani ) is a Venezuelan football player (striker). He is under contract with the English first division club Watford .

Career

In the club

Adalberto Peñaranda began his professional career at Deportivo La Guaira until he ventured to Europe to Udinese Calcio in 2015 . This lent him subsequently directly to FC Granada from. Without any competitive appearance for Udine, the English first division club Watford FC signed Peñaranda in February 2016, who loaned him directly to Granada CF. He returned to Udinese Calcio on loan for the first half of the 2016/17 season . In the second half of the season , Peñaranda will play on loan at Málaga FC . This loan was extended by Malaga according to an agreed option for the 2017/18 season.

After returning to Watford in the 2018/19 season, Peñaranda did not have a UK work permit. This was only granted in November 2018. Watford then signed a new five-year contract with him. Nevertheless, he was during the entire rest of the season in no league game on the field. Most of the time he wasn't even part of the squad. He actually played only in two games of the FA Cup , the English Cup.

Shortly before the end of the transfer window for the 2019/20 season, a loan for this season was agreed with the Belgian first division partner KAS Eupen . Lending ended early at the end of January 2020. Peñaranda had only played five league games in Eupen.

In the national team

In 2016, Peñaranda made his debut under national coach Rafael Dudamel in the Venezuelan senior team and quickly became a regular. In the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup , for which Venezuela did not qualify as the bottom of the group, and at the Copa America 2019 he was not part of the squad, so that in 2018 and 2019 he only played three friendly matches during part of the season.
