Christian Kabasele (born February 24, 1991 in Lubumbashi , Zaire , now the Democratic Republic of the Congo ) is a Belgian football player of Congolese origin. The central defender is under contract with Watford FC and is a Belgian international .
Career
societies
Kabasele played for RFC Chaudfontaine and KAS Eupen in his youth . There he moved up to the first team for the 2008/09 season and was used three times in the second division during the season . In the 2009/10 season he played once and rose with the team after successful playoffs in the Pro League . After playing there three times in the first half of the season, he was awarded to KV Mechelen in January 2011 until the end of the season. On April 8, 2011, Kabasele scored his first goal in professional football in a 2-1 away win against Lierse SK . After the end of the season he moved to Ludogorez Razgrad in the Bulgarian A Grupa . There he made eleven league appearances and won the championship and the Bulgarian Cup with the club . For the new season, Kabasele returned to Eupen and established himself as a regular player in the Second Division. From the 2014/15 season he played for two years for the first division team KRC Genk and was used in 76 league games for them.
For the 2016/17 season , Kabasele moved to the English first division club Watford , with whom he signed a five-year contract.
National team
Kabasele completed a game for the U18 team of the Belgian Football Association in a 3-1 win in Austria on April 8, 2009 . He made ten appearances for the U19 national team , scoring a brace against Kazakhstan (4: 0) on November 15, 2009 and against Luxembourg (4: 2) on April 20, 2010. For the U20 he played once against Malta on March 31, 2010 (1-0). For the U21 selection he came on March 28, 2011 in the 0-1 defeat against Greece also to a use.
For the 2016 European Championships in France , Kabasele was appointed to the Belgian senior squad by national coach Marc Wilmots without having previously played an international match. In the tournament, Kabasele was the only Belgian outfield player not used. He made his international debut on November 9, 2016 in a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands .
