Saint-Étienne-de-Boulogne is located about ten kilometers north-northeast of Aubenas in the northeastern foothills of the Cevennes . It is part of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park . Saint-Étienne-de-Boulogne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gourdon in the north and north-west, Saint-Priest in the east, Saint-Laurent-sous-Coiron in the south and east, Vesseaux in the south and south-west and Saint-Michel-de-Boulogne in the west .
