Lachapelle-sous-Aubenas is a French commune in the Ardèche department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region with 1604 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).
geography
The municipality is located about seven kilometers southwest of the canton capital Aubenas on the southeastern border of the Regional Nature Park Monts d'Ardèche , in the so-called Piémont Cévenol . Lachapelle-sous-Aubenas lies on the edge of the valley of the Ardèche river . The western part of the municipality is predominantly overgrown with forest, the eastern part is used for agriculture.
