Troy Matthew Deeney (born June 29, 1988 in Birmingham ) is an English football player who has been under contract with Watford FC since 2010 .

Career

Walsall FC

Troy Deeney made his debut on April 7, 2007 for Walsall FC in a 2-1 away win over Torquay United in Football League Two in 2006/07. Walsall won the championship in the fourth division that season and rose to Football League One . After a hit in his first full season, Deeney scored twelve league goals in the 2008-09 season. In 2009/10 he increased his goal count to fourteen goals, but ended the season with Walsall again only in the middle of the table.

Watford FC

On August 6, 2010 Deeney moved to the second division club Watford and signed a two-year contract. After only three league goals in his first second division season , Deeney scored eleven goals in 2011/12 and ended the season with Watford in eleventh place. In the course of the Football League Championship 2012/13 he has scored fifteen goals so far. At the beginning of the season, Deeney was sentenced to ten months in prison, but was released early in September 2012.
