Isaac Success Ajayi (born January 7, 1996 in Benin City ) is a Nigerian football player who has been under contract with the English second division club Watford since July 2016 . The striker has been a Nigerian international since 2017 .

Career

Born in Benin City , Success started his career at the local club BJ Foundation in his native Nigeria . In November 2013 he signed a contract with the Italian first division club Udinese Calcio . This contract started in January 2014, but Success did not receive a work permit. Then he moved to the partner club, the FC Granada . He played there for the time being in the reserve. He made his debut in the professional team six months later, when he was allowed to start in the 1-1 draw against FC Elche . In this game he managed one assist. His first goal for the Nazaríes he scored on 7 December, the 1: 1 draw against FC Valencia . For Granada he scored seven goals in 49 appearances in two and a half years.

On July 1, 2016, Success signed a five-year contract with Watford FC . The London club transferred a previously internal record transfer fee of 15 million euros to Granada for the services of the striker. In his first season, however, he was only able to score a single goal in 19 appearances in the Hornets jersey . After only one assignment in the 2017/18 season , it was awarded to FC Málaga on January 31, 2018 . But even there he could not prevail and was only used in eight games in which he did not succeed.

At Watford, he failed to make it into the starting line-up after his return and scored only four times in 30 league appearances in the 2018/19 season . In the following 2019/20 season he only played five league games in which he did not score and had to accept relegation to the EFL Championship with Watford .

Isaac Success made his debut for the Nigerian national team on March 23, 2017, when he was substituted on in a game against Senegal .
