Marca is a daily Spanish sports newspaper with 14 regional editions nationwide and belongs to the Italian RCS MediaGroup . It is the sports newspaper with the highest circulation in Spain. The most extensive coverage is on football, especially on the Spanish competitions.

In 2010, the average daily circulation was 274,581 copies; among the regular daily newspapers, only El País had a higher circulation. According to another survey, Marca, which z. B. in Spanish coffee bars and popular reading there is more than 2.5 million readers, making it the newspaper in Spain with the greatest reach.

The main editorial office of Marca is based in Madrid . This is also associated with a strong trend in reporting: the local clubs Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid take up a relatively large amount of space, and reporting is usually quite benevolent. A lot is also reported about FC Barcelona , but with critical distance.

The sports newspaper is also known for two prizes it awards, the Pichichi Trophy for the best goalscorer in the Primera and Segunda División and the Zamora Trophy for the goalkeeper with the fewest goals per game.

Marca has been running its own radio station since 2001, and the newspaper's own television station MARCA TV began broadcasting in 2010.
