The club was founded on July 21, 2008 as Real Esppor Club in Caracas , the capital of Venezuela. The Venezuelan Football Association classified the club in the second-rate Segunda División. With a second place in the overall table, five points behind Centro Ítalo FC, they were promoted to the Primera División , the top division in Venezuelan football , in the first season . Here the club was able to cause a sensation when the Torneo Apertura took second place tied with Deportivo Táchira . If Real Esppor Club had a better goal difference than Deportivo Táchira, they would play against the winner of Torneo Clausura, Zamora FC , for the Venezuelan football championship. Nevertheless, the second place in the overall table behind FC Caracas at the end of the season is a very big success for the still young club. You are playing for participation in the Copa Sudamericana 2011 . In the first play-off game, Real Esppor Club met Carabobo FC on May 22 and 25, 2011 . After one could prevail, then Deportivo Anzoátegui waited , which in turn had eliminated AC Mineros de Guayana . Against this team, however, Real Esppor Club lost and failed to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana .

In 2013, the club moved to La Guaira. On June 26, 2013, the team chose Deportivo La Guaira as their name.
