Deportivo Táchira Fútbol Club is a Venezuelan football club founded in 1974. Táchira currently plays in the Primera División , the top division in Venezuela , in which he won the most titles with eight championships after FC Caracas (11).

history

In 1974 the Italian Gaetano Greco founded the club and named it Deportivo San Cristóbal. In 1978 the club got its current name and was called Deportivo Táchira Fútbol Club. The club then changed its name twice: in 1986 the name changed to Unión Atlético Táchira and in 1999 the club was renamed Deportivo Táchira Fútbol Club.

The stadium

The club plays its home games at the Estadio Polideportivo de Pueblo Nuevo in San Cristobal , which has 42,500 spectators. The stadium was inaugurated on January 11, 1976 with the game against Deportivo Calí.
